Bye bye Hokkaido

I am currently at Hakodate, Hokkaido and it will be my last day in Hokkaido. I will be taking a total of 3 trains to get to Kyoto (which will last 10h). It is cherry blossom season in Hokkaido and all around, trees with pink and white flowers line the roads. It is indeed a beautiful sight. The past few days passed by very quickly.

2 days ago, I was traveling around Sapporo by foot. First we visited Nijo fish market and wanted to have breakfast there, but sadly didn't find any places selling breakfast. Then we headed down to the New Ramen Alley for Ramen breakfast. The ramen made us feel very bloated even though before having the bowl of ramen, we were starving. We walked to Odori park before heading for the botanic gardens. Next part of the journey was Sapporo beer museum where we tasted 3 of their beers.

Just yesterday, I was at Lake Toya. At Toyako Onsen, a town by the lake, we found out that the next bus to our accommodation is more than an hour later and we decided to walk to our accommodation (estimated to be 4-5km away). Had our bento lunch by the lake before we rented bicycles to cycle round the lake. It is only when we cycled almost one round around the lake and were almost at Toyako Onsen, that we realise that the whole trip is 50km. Boy my butt hurts.

Today, we had a wonderful breakfast at our accommodation before heading down here (2 buses + 1 train ride). Our host at our present accommodation is a very nice lady, though she speaks little English. She directed us to quite a number of nice places. We had a pretty relaxed day at Hakodate. (I am very glad that I found Mr Bean's teddy bear!)

I think I should catch up on sleep. Been sleeping less than A.
