I'm sorry
I'm sorry that this blog may seem like a graveyard because I haven't updated in a long time. I can give the usual excuse which is that I was busy. But of course it is just a excuse. It is always just an issue of priorities in life. I never fixed that properly.
So what has happened over these 2 months? Firstly, I fought my way to read CS5230. I had to knock on doors and visit offices entertaining people who keep shooing me away telling me that I should be heading to the undergraduate office instead of the graduate office. Thankfully, I succeed and I must say CS5230 is an interesting module. The other modules I am taking are all mathematics modules and I think I am collapsing under their combined workload.
Secondly, I went through 3 rounds of interviews and another which didn't take place due to technical difficulties. Got the internship and so here I come California. Of course, I need to get deferment from ICT.
Thirdly, my trip to Hong Kong is like next week and that also means that recess week is almost here. But before the HK trip, I have to clear two midterm test. I hope I don't screw it up. It may sound very cliche but I really think time passes too quickly. I don't even have time to laze around.
Here's an interesting quote from Doron Zeilberger:
"P.S. When I visited Egypt, I was so amazed that human beings could build the pyramides with their ancient technology. Every time I read a (human-generated) mathematical article or go to a (human-generated) mathematical talk, I am amazed how human mathematicians managed to construct such a (seemingly) complex edifice called modern mathematics. But it is even more amazing how stubbornly they cling to their old paper-and-pencil habits, and when they use the computer, it is in a very superficial manner, as a numerical or symbolic calculator. If the ancient Egyptians had a crane, their pyramids would be ten times higher. "
