simplex
Deep down within me, I feel very proud that I finally managed to understand simplex algorithm and code it out. The quest to learn simplex algorithm was not easy as no one around me has heard of it or let alone coded it. I started off with links from the wikipedia entry on simplex and moved on to borrow a linear programming book (which ended by overdue thanks to the library system) and photocopied some notes along the way. It feels so good when the online-judge gave a reply "Accepted".

Linear programming eh? Keep that code... it will prove to be rather useful in the long run.
And I've heard of the simplex algorithm, just never had the need to write it...
